Girls Nursery Room

Scalloped wall

Hi, I’m Gianna.

Today, I want to introduce the DIY interior design of my second child’s room. We have a first child who is 5 years old. And guess what? It’s a girl! We always hoped to have a daughter alongside our son, so I’m thrilled to finally be able to use all the pink I’ve been holding back. This room used to be our older child’s playroom, as shown in the picture below.

Instead of painting all the walls pink, I planned to create an accent wall with the pink color and make a scalloped wall on it. Let me tell you how to create the scalloped wall pattern!

First, choose the area where you want to paint the accent color and mark the horizontal line to ensure it’s level. Then, attach masking tape to the center of the embroidery hoop and align the tape with the horizontal line on the wall. Trace along the circular part of the frame to create the scalloped wall pattern.

And for the ends of the wall, cut out a paper template in the shape of a half-circle traced along the embroidery hoop, and place it against the wall. Draw the lines following the template.

Once all the lines are drawn, it’s time to paint. Since the wall was already white so I didn’t apply a separate primer.

The color I chose is Behr Vintage Pink (eggshell). When painting, I started by using a brush and roller to cover the straight surfaces, and for the curved areas, I used a small brush to paint with more precision.

I reused the crib from my older child, adding a touch of cuteness with small sconce lights on both sides of the scalloped wall. I also replaced the old lighting fixtures in the room. And of course, a nursing chair is essential for a baby’s room, right? You can find the purchase details by clicking the link or visiting the shop category on the website.

Shall we take a look at the completed baby room together?

I felt so happy working on this project, eagerly anticipating the arrival of our beautiful daughter. Decorating the room made me realize that her arrival is just around the corner. How do you like our baby girl’s room with the pink scalloped wall? It truly stands out. I hope you found these tips helpful. See you next time!
